Caballito loco is run by Esmeralda Ezquerro Barierrra, a Riojana who has spent her life around horses has manifested her dream of building a safe place for horses. Her passion and enthusiasm is what keeps this beautiful place alive and thriving.
Caballito loco is situated in the Val de Onsella and accommodates many disciplines, but Esme has always specialised in jumping and trick riding.
With an adventurous spirit Esme trains all types of horses for the key disciplines. From dressage, to show jumping, trick-riding and remote mountain hikes, at Caballito loco, you can experience the equestrian sport.

Seasons
The hipica has peak and off peak times and as we are situated in a small village so planning ahead is crucial.
The changing season in the valley have a big change on riding environment.
Winter
Tend to focus on same day walks with the majority of riding during the middle of the day. You will find subzero nights, wet weather but milder temperatures mid day. We do get snow and freezing days so planing for warm dry attire.
Spring
We have 12 hour days and as we get into beautiful weather. Early spring will be wet and muddy, but brings out flowers and leads into 20 degree days and cool nights
Summer
July and August are the hotest months and can get to 40degrees, riding is done early morning and late afternoon, sowalks are limited and expeditions are are not held during this time. Summer is Peak season and usuall the village is full, please make sure you reserve in advance
Autumn
This is our best time of year, Sept and Oct are perfect weather and great for longer expeditions. This is a peak time for training season and group sessions.
